Retail establishments serving prepared food to the general public are required to have a Certified Food Manager on staff. MarketFresh offers the Certified Food Manager course and exam to fulfill the requirements to obtain this certification from the Minnesota Department of Health. The responsibility of a Certified Food Manager is to provide proper training to all food handlers at that facility.
The CFM course is a full-day course that includes a course textbook, instruction, activities and an exam for certification. The course contains critical information about food handling and food safety and is also highly recommended for food handlers from any type of facility even if the CFM exam is not required.

Please contact us for our current list of classes. To sign up for a course, please download a registration form, and send us the completed registration form via fax at 612-331-4097 or via U.S. Mail with payment at least two weeks prior to class date, or call to check for class availability. It is highly recommended that course participants study the course manual prior to the course to increase comprehension of the material to facilitate discussion during the course and for improved exam scores. The course manual is mailed out to course participants upon receipt of registration materials and payment.
At MarketFresh, we realize that it may not be convenient or necessary to have all employees receive Certified Food Manager training. However, this training contains such important information for all food handlers to have. In a busy work atmosphere, some critical information may not be relayed effectively during new employee training. In addition, employee turnover may make it difficult to maintain a Certified Food Manager who is continuously training in new employees or put undue pressure on the CFM in addition to his/her other duties.
